Over the last few week’s I’ve enjoyed watching Christmas unfold in shopping centres across Australia. There’s plenty of activity happening both online and in centre so I thought I’d share a few of those things with you today. Here’s what a few of you have been up to:
I love this one! Everyone can relate to that moment when the photographer snaps the camera and it’s a cracker of a photo. Cairns Central is giving their customers the chance to win a $1,000 Gift Card and they’re also giving each entrant a Free Santa Photo (with purchase). Here’s a great image from their Facebook page:
Sunnybank Plaza (and quite a few of the Retail First Shopping Centres) are running a daily on-page Facebook giveaway. These competitions are great to keep your audience glued to your Facebook page throughout the silly season and they help to raise awareness of individual products or services from your retailers. Here’s a sample of one of their posts which had over 600 likes within 24 hours!
Here’s another great photo competition which is easy for the family to participate. Facebook fans simply upload a photo of their Christmas tree to go in the running to win the major prize of a $500 Shopping Centre Gift Voucher.
Kwinana Marketplace recently started a campaign called 12 Days of Winning. Once again this is a great way to keep your audience glued to your Facebook page with a variety of on-page Facebook competitions and Facebook Offers to be announced right up until 22nd December. Here’s one of their first giveaways and an offer posted to the Facebook page, resulting in over 100 comments and an immediate 49 claims on the offer:
I really like this one… maybe it’s because I was lined up at the post office last week and I’ve seen quite a few people complaining on social media about the queues. If I’d known earlier that I could get a free express post pack from Stockland Rockhampton on presentation of my receipt, I definitely would have taken them up on their offer to help ease the Christmas stress. Here’s the Facebook post:
Who’d like a real Aussie Christmas tree? Noosa Civic are giving one away each time a customer spends $80 or more at specialty stores. It’s the perfect Christmas gift with purchase for a community that is environmentally conscious. Customers can also donate their trees back to the Centre and support local Noosa and District Landcare programs. Here’s the gorgeous pic that was posted to their Facebook page.
I like this twist on Christmas entertainment for the kids too! It’s a Reindeer Search from Aspley Hypermarket. It’s a great way to get kids (and their parents) into the shopping centre, exploring every corner of the mall and helping to spread the Christmas cheer! The Reindeer Search is now fully booked but here’s a post from Aspley Hypermarket’s Facebook page to give you the idea:
Now it’s over to you: What else have you seen happening in your community or within your shopping centre portfolio that you’d love to share? I’d love to take a look, so feel free to email or drop me a line in the comments below. Merry Christmas to everyone!
